Day 501 Creating and Playing

Running Streak Day 501: 5 mile run in Republic, MO.  The plan was to run early with my main running bro Scott this morning but we had some big storms rolling through this morning.  We opted to change our plans and therefore I slept in a bit.  When I finally got out the door it was a bit on the muggy side.  The main thought I had today when I was out there was regarding my love for play.  I reflected back on my skateboarding years and what appealed to me about skateboarding and two thoughts came to mind: playing and creating.  I feel most alive when I am playing and creating.  Skateboarding met both those criteria for me as part of the activity for me included learning and creating new moves.  Running touches my desire to play and when I am out there gliding the roads and trails my mind is in full creative mode.  Currently those creative juices are going into a story I am endeavor to author.
